wednesday—"take 3"

Picture #1—SOOC—Program mode/no flash—warm natural light. only ran a defog and usm on this one.

Picture #2—used levels to lighten it a bit–and then bumped up the contrast

Picture #3—bw conversion–(gradient map)

i love the WARMTH in the top two–and the way the lighting looks so ambient—definitely like the colors. The wall that I took these on–is not painted that dark—-but, I think it looks good with my dd’s skin tone.

Tuesday—(Week-Sports) PLAYDATE

well for the POTD challenge—this is the week of ‘sports.’ I think a toddler playdate/photoshoot definitely counts as a sport! these are some pics of our sweet friends—gracen is the ‘baby’ of the group, but they are all within 9 months of each other. It’s amazing how much difference a ‘month’ can make when they are so young.

(natural light and lots of giggles…..)

POTD–’sports’

yeah! i am finally back online! yippee! here is a storyboard i did for a client a couple weeks ago—but, i thought it fit the ‘sports’ theme. He was a blast to capture! So fun and full of expressions.
Off to post on the thread and ‘re-enter’ the POTD world…..

**btw—for some reason all my pictures on blogger are blurred on my pc—are they on yours? or do you see them clearly???

a few things about this picture….

  • this is one of my favorites—taken in dallas a few years ago–(i know, not today)–but, i am still having computer problems….anyways…..
  • I used my telephoto lens (70-300mm) with my FILM nikon slr—and before the photoshop years–so it is sooc.
  • The clock is on the top of a beautiful Baptist church in the heart of Dallas. Jason and I love the symbolism of the phrase “Night Cometh”.
  • I used to drive by this church almost every day—on the way to work and on the way to Jamba Juice–(which I desperately miss!)
  • we lived in dallas for 6 years and in many ways our heart–(at least mine)–is still there–it is ‘home’ for me in many ways.
  • this photo hangs in our hallway in a sepia tint.

btw: our computer is wacko and we are taking it tomorrow to a friend at church to clear it and reload everything. Not sure how long this will take—but, I won’t be posting until I get it back….hopefully, it will be within a week!

ETA: (re: pics)–this was one of those…“oh sweetie let’s not do that…..but, let me take a few pics first….” lol

it’s been ‘one of those days….’—-i think these pictures sum up some of it….
nothing glamorous–just candid shots.
having major computer problems–had to uninstall PSE and now it won’t re-install….that sure makes this challenge tricky…..

introduction–day two

my heart has always longed to be a mother and this past March, dh and I traveled to Taiwan to bring our sweet baby girl home….
what an amazing blessing and answer to so many prayers.

gracen is such a JOY and a DELIGHT to me everyday. such a blessing that i am thankful for every moment.

these bottom two photos are from today. I used a soft coloring technique for the second and b/w conversion for the third.
the first one I just threw in for nostalgia’s sake….:)
what a day it was to finally hold my baby girl in my arms!

introduction

happy monday! well this week is ‘introduction week’….so, i thought i would start out with a picture of me and dh–who is also my best friend–(for real…) we’ve been married for 8 1/2 years and I am very thankful for him. this picture was actually taken on timer mode cmas day. We started a new tradition of having a ‘family photo shoot’ on cmas and my husband and daughter were very patient with me…. since I don’t have a remote—I had to keep running back to the camera pressing the button and then jumping back into the picture—but, I like how this one turned out…

Kinda sassy, kinda sweet.
this is just for fun—an outtake.…..a badly-lit silly one…just cuz it makes me laugh…
