sidelighting

Lots of Pictures……love the lighting by our back door—it gives great “rembrandt lighting”–it makes it tricky when converting to bw though–b/c the lit side of the face tends to be blown. But, I like the warm tones in the color.

this smile is such my dd! such a happy girl!

ran an acid wash action on this one—not sure about the skin tones, but wanted more of an urban feel….?

Thanks for looking…..These were all with my 50mm at about 3.2 i think. Love CC.

sneak peek—look at this cutie!

meet sweet baby “k”…..

The top photo is from a photo shoot this weekend—and I just LOVE her expression and her eyes in this photo! Love the emotion of wonder, delight, and anticipation all wrapped up in those eyes.
So, I just had to post this pic—still proofing the rest…but this one has just caught my eye.

The second photo is from an earlier photo shoot of “Miss K”. She was only 2 months old in these. They grow so fast!

POTD week—"Things I Can’t Live Without

“my faith”
my faith in the Lord Jesus is a very important part of my life and has been since I was a little child. His strength and peace have gotten me through so much in this life. I am thankful for His mercies and grace in my life.

this is an old local church nearby that I thought would make a cool photograph. The first one is pretty much SOOC—the second one I tried using the sponge tool to bring out different colors in it.

thanks for looking!!

jewel

this is the week of pets and here’s jewel–our sweet and NEEDY vizsla. She’s getting older and her face is getting whiter and whiter. To say she loves to cuddle and attention would be an understatement. Vizsla’s are nicknamed “Velcro Vizsla’s” and jewel fits that to a “T”.
These pics are taken with my 50mm at f2.2 i believe. She looks so intense b/c she is hoping my dd will give her some of her snack!

peonies

a sweet friend gave me this bouquet of peonies for my bday….
wanted to capture these in the warm, glowing light in my kitchen. I shot in Shutter Priority mode and it was at 1/40–f1.8 and ISO at 250. How’s the lighting???
I like the way the light reflects off the vase.
tfl! i’ve been a slacker with this blog….need to get my momentum back.

sunday–mother’s day

Long awaited desire—blessing that exceeds my dreams.

Few more of dd in her ‘over-the-top-tulle dress’….. different bw conversions.

Happy Mother’s Day!

this was such a fun photo shoot. Shot these in manual–the silohuette pic was a tree swing and the sun was in perfect position for this shot.

is dinner ready yet?????

Snapped this candid shot of dd this week as she “oh so patiently was waiting for dinner…” It cracks me up. All the kitchen table stuff is kinda framing the pic—I cropped it at first…but, i think I kinda like the way it tells the story. what do you think?

wow! it’s been awhile…..i was in dallas for a week and then busy editing some photos from a couple family shoots that were a blast!!! Here’s a handful from yesterday. The flowers are from a park and I love the tree reflection in the creek. Something about that scene just seems magical. the others are my dd….

these were all taken with my NEW 50mm 1.8 which I love! GREAT lens! I’ve been keeping it on my camera to just practice with it and i love it so far.

TFL and I hope to get to your blogs today!
