seasons

we have lots of pine trees on our property, which is so fitting for the christmas season right around the corner….pinecones are everywhere and gracen has a great time collecting them with me. Looking forward to some fun snow pics with the evergreens as the background.
a little backlighting…always marvel at the beauty of the sunlight coming through the leaves…

this is what it did today……

took these back in our old house–but haven’t posted them—I just like g’s eyes peeping over the umbrella in this last one…

speaking of seasons—we are definitely in one:

a season of change for sure…

so many emails to return—I am getting on it if you are waiting for one…just waiting for that feeling of ‘settled’ to set in……

a little vintage

playing with vintage in lightroom—does it wash everything out too much????

some pics from ohio

okay, i know these pics aren’t the greatest of the Amish–b/c I took them while we were driving in the car–not very steady–but, Jason really wanted the pic of the man working the fields. Edited it in LR. I am loving that program!
here’s my attempt to play with shutter speeds….

I usually always shoot in AP mode–(esp with the little ones)–but wanted to try to freeze the windmill and then make it look like it was in motion….it’s so nice playing with digital where you can see right away if you ‘got it.’

a new fun spot

this fun pine tree spot is on the side of our yard and produces wonderful lighting! Here’s a few I took the other day…g was having a blast with the pine needles that had falled from up above.

uh-oh boo boo

well, last night–poor sweet g fell down on the pavement as she was running and her tooth went deep into her lip. there was blood everywhere–which made me panic—and it took a while to figure out where it was all coming from. I was just sure she cracked a tooth–but, thankfully, her teeth are fine.
Her lip however, was not. We ended up going to Urgent Care and she had to get 2 stitches on the inside of her lip. Jason helped hold her down and we got many ‘looks’ from the people in the waiting room as we left–as they had witnessed our poor girl screaming from w/in the room.
Poor baby.
Thankfully, she is fine. Her lip is swollen and a bit bruised on the outside–but, look at her still smiling. She is amazingly resilient. She also touches some of the deepest parts of my heart–and I am just so thankful for her. gosh i love this girl. what a blessing.

lines…

really thinking about composition and lines when I took this shot….i like the little house in the back corner too.
again–playing with lightroom. I enhanced the purple sky a bit in LR–but, I think it added some grain–does LR do that??
