Still here……..Just haven’t blogged for a few days—or maybe a week now…..hmmm……been busy and sick this past week.  Hate being sick–but kinda thankful for some ‘downtime.’  Time to sleep……Time to rest.

The past 7 months have been so busy….crazy busy….spending time reflecting on my time and priorities….

I have so many design projects in the works—-but just not enough time to get them all done ‘yesterday…’

and a beautiful family that I love and adore and try to take care of…..

balance is so hard for me–I am such an ‘all or nothing’ type person…I find myself focusing on one area–to only discover I am neglecting another…..such is the way of it I suppose….

so….this week–thinking and reflecting on balancing it all….enjoying life–honoring the Lord with my time and my talents–and loving my family well.

I was playing around with shutter speeds and showing motion this morning and thought this photo was a good reflection of this post….

okay—a little more than a ‘few’….:)

got these dragon t-shirts in Taiwan when we traveled for Ethan and decided it was time for a little shoot….

gracen is going to be ’4′ on Wednesday and has been planning her ‘bday party’ since April……Almost every day since Ethan’s birthday in April–we have heard about her ‘PINK BIRTHDAY…..PINK HATS, PINK TABLECLOTH, PINK NAPKINS, PINK CROWN, PINK CAKE, PINK EVERYTHING…..’  She has been making us laugh……

Well, it is now finally the week—-so I guess we’ll start planning…..:)

we are doing a family shoot tonight—soooo hoping for great images!  it’s tough getting them both to look at the camera at the same time…….

reflections.

wow…..already half of 2009 has gone……what a busy first half of the year…

January—traveled to Taiwan to bring Ethan home…. became a family of 4……

February–quickly realized that Ethan didn’t like sleeping and wanted to be held 24/7–exhausted.

March–packed up our duplex

April–moved to our new house  (which meant unpacking…)

May–glimpes of ‘settling in’ on the horizon

June–celebrations with family and unpacking those last boxes…painting, painting & more painting

July–summertime fun and finally feeling ‘settled’ as a family…..

I am so thankful for my family and to ‘be home.’  Although this first half of the year has been very busy–it has been full of blessings and God’s faithfulness admist all the transitions.  So thankful to the Lord for His entrusting J & I to raise these two precious ones and to love them dearly.

Such an amazing gift.

nature adventures in our backyard

I am so excited!  last week we found a robin’s nest under our deck and there was one egg in it!  Gracen and I peered through the deck and then later in the day–there was a 2nd egg…..Now there are 4 eggs waiting to be hatched!  We have been watching and waiting everyday—-can’t wait for these little ones to be born—

I tried to get a picture inside the nest–but I had limited room b/c my camera kept hitting the underside of the deck—i just held it up and snapped….so you can’t see all them—but i tried……:)

We have also been doing some gardening…..It has been so fun to see what perennials have been coming up in our new house. I was SOOOO delighted when some peonies came up! We are waiting for them to bloom now! We planted 2 more peonies, a hydrangea, butterfly bush, small lilac and a bleeding heart plant. Gracen has been SUCH a BIG helper! She gets out her garden gloves, bucket, spade and watering can and works beside me! :) it’s cute. Last night, Jason dug a hole for one more peony and I took some snaps…..

it’s been a lot of fun…..:) here’s a couple pics of the hydrangea—love those!

home from up north…….it was GORGEOUS!  The cherry blossoms were in full bloom and the weather was perfect.  So nice to have some time away after the past few crazy months.

Thank you for all the emails and inquiries—I have begun tackling my inbox today and will try to respond to everyone within the next day.
